There’s a refreshing song devoted to our soaring lanterns called “Sky Lanterns“, by a youth group from Worcester. They of late got to the finals of the nationwide composition contest. With their recent win, they will be equipped to have an possibility to develop their song with trained instrumentalists. The soon to be booming original song was even in recent times recorded in a modernised recording studio. The group, Chicken Licken Pixies of Asia, came together while attending composition courses at the Worcester School of Rock and Performance. The oldest of the rock band is just 13 years of age. They put together their song throughout specific song-writing courses that were carried out the previous class term at the centre, which students assemble on Sat mornings. The countrywide competition that is handled by Young Chamber UK, the fresh rock band was inserted by the WSRP. By arriving at the finals they are going to immediately have the possibility to take part in the performance at the BAFTA Theatre in Piccadilly.

Of course, for us here at lanterns, one of the most delightful pieces of this tale is that a band of brilliant composers would be interested to devote a song to our wonderful products. This rightfully touches our hearts.

Please do get in touch if you want to receive additional information about our lanterns whether it be ordering or distribution, likewise, if you have some other original song composed about airborne objects. We would love to hear your views as well as pieces.

The Ting Tings ‘Hands’ – Song Premiere

Saturday, August 28th, 2010
In 2008, Brit pop pair the Ting Tings struck gold with the singles ‘That’s Not My Name ‘ and ‘Shut Up and Let Me Go ‘ from their first album, ‘We Started Nothing. ‘ Now, determined not to make the same track twice, they have just released their newest single ‘Hands’, off their forthcoming sophomore set ‘Massage Kunst, ‘ which will be out this autumn. Fans will see a decidedly more electro-pop approach that ditches guitar hooks for pacy synth jams. To get that sound right they connected up with electro-disco-clash master Calvin Harris, who had formerly done 1 or 2 remixes for ‘We Started Nothing. ‘ “We record our own music and play all of the parts, so like on our first record it was critical for us to get some distance from our production in the mix process,” the Ting Tings’ Katie White tells Spinner. “Calvin creates fantastic pop mixes with his very own music. We imagine him to work in similar paths to ourselves, avoiding many standard recording strategies in commercial conveyor-type studios.
All our best music is produced in a self-created bubble section, an individual space, carving up ideas and impatiently recording live performances. He was fast as hell and nailed all of the main points of the track straight away. A good mix should lead you to feel even better about your track. We lost nothing and gained everything with his mix.” Like plenty of work Harris is concerned in, ‘Hands’ sounds similar to something you’d hear in a dance club more than anyplace else. White announces it was actually the first song the group wrote after a marathon eighteen months on the road, and the words reflect this idea in a way, as the important part of the tune has White gleefully singing “clap your hands if you are working too hard.” “Traveling around the planet, we saw how hard folk worked,” she asserts. “With our busy tour schedule, we experienced it firsthand. Folk ought to have a small additional time for themselves”.

Beyonce Teams up with Lady Gaga

    Friday, October 16th, 2009

A picture taken during the filming process of Beyonce Knowles’ music video for her single “Video Phone” has been found. The photo sees Lady GaGa wearing white leotard and her trademark blonde wig.

Lady GaGa’s cameo part in Beyonce’s video has been confirmed by a spokesperson for director Hype Williams to MTV. The video was filmed at Brooklyn’s Greenpoint neighborhood last weekend. Beside making cameo, Lady GaGa will also add extra verses to the song.

Last month she was wrestling with Madonna on Saturday Night Live and now Lady Gaga is set to team up fellow pop megastar Beyoncé.

According to Rolling Stone, rumours were circulating earlier this week that Lady Gaga had been seen at the Brooklyn-based shoot for Beyonce’s new single Video Phone. Now a spokesperson for Hype Williams, the clip’s director, has confirmed the suspicions.

While Lady Gaga doesn’t actually perform on the album version of Video Phone, the video is reported to feature a different take on the tune, with Lady Gaga and Beyoncé trading verses.

The pair have joined forces to give Mrs Jay-Z’s brand new single, Video Phone, some serious diva presence, with Gaga guest starring in the video.

A spokesman for video director Hype Williams confirmed the superstar collaboration, and revealed that he had shot the video last weekend in Brooklyn.

Although details on the shoot are still firmly-under-wraps, sources hint that the video will be a fashion fest, with B decked out in a ‘feathered dress’ and Gaga sporting ’something wild … the fashion is sick and insane.’
